September Favourites!

Image
I have been meaning to do favourites posts for every month, but with a rather busy work schedule, I just haven't had time! So with these things called 'days off' I thought I'd put them to good use with a few of my favourites... Firstly, gonna start with makeup. Being a waitress at a rather busy hotel, I need makeup that isn't gonna just slide off my face as soon as I start work. Which is where these products come in to save the day (or my face!) First, because of my rosacea covered face, I need something that would hide my soon to be tomato face. The 'Flawless colour correcting primer' (it's green but thankfully goes on more or less colourless) This is for anti-redness, pore minimising and it has a matte finish. Next, two products from Collection that save my face, quite literally. I used to not really care as to what brand or type of makeup I used, so long as it stayed on my face... and that's where things changed. On a whim I bought the Col...

25 Random Questions!

Now isn't this summer weather something else? I mean, Scotland being able to have temperatures of 25 degrees and more is certainly something we're not used to! But I am definitely not complaining, unless I'm at work and the sweat is pouring off me because I'm inside in a long sleeved shirt and tie haha... So, since it's my day off I thought that I would do something fun without putting very much thought into it. And here it is, 25 random questions for your enjoyment! 1 - Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed? My door has to always be shut, I can't even try to sleep if it's open because it makes me feel anxious for some weird reason! 2- Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or by a swarm of bees? I'll take the bear because to this day *touches wood* I have never been stung by a bee or wasp so I plan on staying well away from them!! 3- Do you always smile for pictures? Not always no, the main reason being that when I smile, my ...

Monthly Favourites - April

Image
Favourites - we all have them, and they come in various different categories. Therefore, me being the brightspark that I am (I heard that laugh!) decided that it might be a good idea to write now again about my current favourite things. By doing this, it could help with gift ideas, or even your next purchase if you wanted! For the month of April there has been various different things that I have really been liking. I have to say that my number one is most definitely plastic glasses. Yes, I know you're probably thinking that I have completely lost my marbles. But I haven't. I'm not talking about the cheap, flimsy ones... I think if I called them "Tumblr cups" then you might have an idea? These come in hundreds of different patterns and sizes do vary, depending on what shop you buy from. As of today, I now own five of these amazing cups, costing only £3 each, and more or less unbreakable... bargain!     You will never guess what my next favourite thing is! O...

Craigmount Pipe Band Ceildh!

Image
What a night this was! Heading home after a ten hour shift, to get myself dolled up and head out to the celebratory evening to support Craigmount High School's pipeband. The evening was held at the Capital Hotel in Edinburgh, and I have to say that the suite the event was being held in was lovely. They had gone all out on the decorations, for example they had lovely fairy lights and stunning candelabras in the centre of every table to putting blue sash on the chairs. I think in total there was about 80-90 people there to support the band, and with that amount of people, the members of the hotel provided a lovely three course meal plus tea and coffees to finish. The starter consisted of roast duck with brioche toast served with red current jelly, and it was lovely. The main course was chicken breast stuffed with haggis, sautéed potato, carrots, green beans wrapped in bacon with a whiskey jus on the side... (Yum). As for the pudding? Well, it was sticky toffee puddi...
